The program contents would be covered in about 500 contact hours. There are two alternate modes in which this is planned to be carried out -
Full Time Program:
4 months, 5 days a week (Mon - Fri), two sessions of 3-1/2 hours per day during 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM. About half the time would be for Theory classes, and the rest for lab classes, demonstrations, seminars, visits to hospitals, CROs, CRO firms, pharma companies, bio laboratories, and a Project/Internship. The Project/Internship Work would be of over 100 hours duration and is an integral part of the program. In terms of academic value, the program contents inclusive of Project/Internship would be equivalent to over 22 credits of a normal university academic program.
Part Time Program:
The coverage will be same as in case of full time program, but would be administered during evening hours and over weekends.
Initially, only one of the versions, Full-time or Part-time, is likely to be offered, and the decision as to which would be offered in June 2008 would be announced by mid-May 2008.
