Ms. Jayanthi Swaminathan
has post-graduate degree in Biochemistry and Sociology with an MBA in
Pharmaceutical Management. She has undergone special certificate training
courses from (i) Bhabha
Atomic Research Centre on Radio Immuno Assay &
its Clinical Applications and (ii) Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Toxicology
from AACC. She is trained and certified by ICMR, Vienna School of Clinical
Research US, Kriger Research Centre
She has to her credit, 5 years of experience as Senior Clinical
Biochemist at Christian Medical College Hospital Vellore
and 15 years of experience as Scientific Officer in laboratory services –
Biochemistry Department of Apollo Hospitals Chennai. She has 4 years of management experience with
Indian Institute of Management
Presently she is heading the clinical research wing of Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF) Chennai as Clinical Project Manager covering clinical trial and basic research activities of the group. Clinical Research Centre of Apollo Group was mandated in 2000 to coordinate the clinical trial activities of the hospital group and she has been a core team member in coordination of over 400 global multi-centric clinical trials. Her responsibilities include managing the clinical trial activities of the Apollo Chennai facility, coordination and management of basic research and healthcare related project activities of Apollo Group, training of clinical research team members, setting up and establishing new sites and overall management of the sites with audit compliance on conduct of clinical trials. She is the Member Secretary of Ethics Committee for Drug Trials at Apollo Hospitals Chennai
She is a faculty registered with IGNOU for the Apollo Healthcare Management program. She has conducted about 5 batches of certificate courses on clinical research to the Chennai city college students and covered clinical trial management as a module to the Hospital Management graduates of Apollo Institute of Management and Allied Health Sciences.
She is a life member of Association of Clinical Biochemists India, Indian Pharmaceutical Association and Institution of Chemists India and a member of Indian Society of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Toxicology and was a member of American Association of Clinical Chemistry.
