The
Theory part (Part – I) of the program would be offered by the
“Bioinformatics and Clinical Research” Group of the AU-KBC
Research Centre, and the Program Coordinator Dr.
G. Ramesh Kumar would have the over all Administrative
responsibility for its conduct.
The Academic responsibility for the design and conduct of the Program
would rest with the Medical Director / Academic Coordinator Dr.
V.T.Sriraam, M.D.(Pharmacology), who is a medically qualified
person with direct experience in all aspects of Clinical Research,
and heads the M/s.Auroville Healthcare Research and Development
Private Limited, Chennai.
The theory part of the program would be conducted at the AU-KBC
Research Centre, MIT Campus of Anna University Chennai, Chromepet,
Chennai-44.
The onsite training (Part-II) would be conducted at the premises of
AHERF,Thousand Lights, Chennai- 600006. The internship
(Part-III) will be rotatory internship, during this period the
students will be posted at various AHERF trial sites in Chennai as
Trainee Clinical Research Coordinators.
The academic course coordinator would be Dr.Jayanthi
Swaminathan from AHERF and she would be responsible for imparting
the various aspects of onsite practicals / training/ visits to the
hospitals pertaining to the clinical research course program for 2
months onsite training (Part-II). In part III, she would take up
oversight of candidates internship for successful completion as
trainee clinical research coordinators in clinical trials of various
indications as per need for a period of 6 months.
The Joint Program would be advised and guided by a Joint Coordination
Committee (JCC) comprising of Experts from AUKBC and AHERF, and
headed by the Chief Advisor Dr.
M.D.Nair. The JCC would be responsible for the proper conduct of
program through out its duration.
There would be a Faculty Committee (FC) consisting of experts who
would be teaching the different topics and who would review the
progress periodically. Other than AU-KBC Research Center
and Anna University, the faculty would be drawn from institutions
that are directly involved in Clinical Research and related work such
as Hospitals, Medical Colleges, CROs, Pharmaceutical Companies,
National Laboratories, Universities, Life Sciences Laboratories etc.
Experts would also be invited from outside the Chennai region to
train the participants in specialized topics if
needed.
At the end of the program, candidates who have successfully completed
all the three parts of the program, as well as paid the full fees,
would be issued a certificate signed by representatives of AU-KBC
Research Centre and AHERF that would also reflect the level of
performance of the candidates.
