The Cryptology Research Society of India has been founded in 2001 to support and promote research activities in the field of cryptology, data security and related areas in India. It arranges lectures, discussions, workshops, seminars, conferences etc., for motivating and guiding the young Indian researchers in the field of cryptology and security. A national workshop on cryptology and an international conference on cryptology (INDOCRYPT) are the annual events being organized by this Society. The present workshop is the third in the series of the national workshops of the CRSI. The AU-KBC Research Centre (www.au-kbc.org)was set up in 1999 at the Madras Institute of Technology Campus of the Anna University, as a collaborative venture between Anna University, Chennai (Madras), and the Chandrasekhar Family Foundation, U.S.A, of Mr.K.B. Chandrasekhar, Co-founder, Exodus Communications Inc and Founder - Chairman, Jamcracker Inc .
The goal of the Centre is to become a world class research centre generating papers, patents, technologies and products of global quality and with a strong application flavour. The Centre does research in the following two broad areas: 1. Information sciences, comprising of Wireless Communications, Cryptography and Network security and Natural Language Processing. 2. Life sciences. comprising of Bio - Informatics and Nano Biology. The Centre has a strong group of mathematicians, communication engineers and software technologists who are capable of delivering complete systems for network security.
