Research Topics in Mathematics

The group is currently working on the following topics:

A large new family of space-time codes for wireless communication using multiple transmit and receive antennas has been discovered, in collaboration with Prof. B. Sundar Rajan of IISc Bangalore, and the results are currently being written up. The next stage in this project is to develop decoding algorithms for these codesThe language of formal groups has been applied to unify various cryptosystems based on discrete logarithm problem. As formal groups have been classified, one could develop many cryptosystems. Further, cryptanalytic attacks can also be carried out simultaneously on several systems using this formalism.
FPGA and software implementation of some cryptographic algorithms have been done in collaboration with Communications group.
