Introduction

This README file explains how to install the tab font for Linux and Windows users.

Linux

File Name: tabakaram.tar.gz Download

Font Installation:

After downloading the tabakaram.tar.gz file, type "tar -zxvf tabakaram.tar.gz" in the command prompt. This will create a directory named 'fonts' in the current directory. Now,
$ cd fonts/ $ mkfontdir
This will create a "fonts.dir" file in the fonts/ directory.
$ xset +fp $ xset fp rehash

Effecting changes in the browser:

Now, enable the font changes in the browser. In Netscape, this can be found in: Edit > Preferences > Fonts. Change the fonts to 'tabakaram'.

Windows

File Name: Tabanna.ttf Download

Font Installation:

If you have tabanna font in your system, you need not download this. You can just go straightly to the section "Effecting changes in the browser". After downloading the ttf file, install it in the fonts folder. To do this, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Fonts. Now click 'Install New Font' in the File menu. Select the directory in which the downloaded font has been stored and you can see a list of available fonts in the same directory. Select the font(s) you want to install and click OK.

Effecting changes in the browser:

Now, enable the font changes in the browser. In Netscape, this can be found in: Edit > Preferences > Fonts. Change the fonts to 'tabanna'.
